Résumé

Les expériences d’une personne qui s’adonne aux jeux de hasard recèlent d’importants indices sur ses fausses croyances. Bien qu’aborder les fausses croyances ne suffise probablement pas en soi comme traitement, explorer ces croyances peut s’avérer un outil important pour aider le client à comprendre ses expériences de jeu—tant ses gains que ses pertes. Corriger ces croyances peut également aider à prévenir les rechutes. Si une personne atteinte d’un problème de jeu persiste à croire qu’elle peut battre la cote, il y a de fortes chances qu’elle essaiera de nouveau de le faire.
